Blue Jays Score Six Runs In The 1st Inning

Blue Jays Start Strong with Six-Run First Inning

Toronto Scores Early, Leads Against Athletics

The Toronto Blue Jays got off to a hot start on Friday night, scoring six runs in the first inning against the Oakland Athletics. The big inning was highlighted by a two-run home run from Teoscar Hernandez and a two-run double from Santiago Espinal.

Blue Jays' Offense Rolls Early

The Blue Jays offense has been struggling in recent weeks, but they looked like a different team in the first inning on Friday. The team collected five hits and drew two walks in the inning, chasing Athletics starter Cole Irvin from the game after just 1/3 of an inning.

Hernandez's home run was his 10th of the season, and it gave the Blue Jays an early 2-0 lead. Espinal's double then drove in two more runs to make it 4-0. The Blue Jays added two more runs on a groundout by Matt Chapman and a single by Raimel Tapia.

The Blue Jays will look to keep their momentum going when they face the Athletics again on Saturday afternoon. Ross Stripling will start for Toronto, while James Kaprielian will take the mound for Oakland.
