Albania scored a last-gasp equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw against Croatia in their UEFA EURO 2016 Group A match on Wednesday. The result leaves both teams level on one point after their opening matches, with Croatia facing Spain and Albania taking on Turkey in their next games.

Armando Sadiku gave Albania a surprise lead in the 19th minute, but Croatia hit back through Ivan Perisic just before the half-hour mark. Mario Mandzukic put Croatia ahead in the 46th minute but Albania substitute Ledian Memushaj levelled things up in injury time.

The result was a fair reflection of a match in which both teams had chances to win. Croatia had the better of the first half, but Albania grew into the game after the break and created several chances of their own.

The draw leaves both teams with work to do in their remaining group matches. Croatia will need to beat Spain to have any chance of qualifying for the last 16, while Albania will need to take something from their match against Turkey.
